OUR FAVORITE FIRE HOUSE... ENGINE 11
Yet, Camden celebrated its fire department's 150 years of service reported by Phaedra Trethan of CourierPost, published September 25, 2019. Sorry that many residents knew nothing of this or we would have backed up
our brave firefighters.
CHRA "LOGO" CONTEST
This organization decided to run a contest among its many schools. Students were to draw a logo that best represented the neighborhood. Our firefighters were volunteered to choose the top four and one Honorable Mention. Both Veterans Memorial Family School and Saint Anthony of Padua School have first and second place winners. Soon in 2019 or early 2020, their art will appear on street banners, made with the help of St. Joseph's Carpenter Society's Enrique Rivera and Pilar Closkey. Firefighter Arroyo with three more firefighters appeared in Vets to present the certificates to the winners on October 30, 2019.
A RECOGNITION GATHERING FOR NEW BUSINESS MEMBERS
Our firefighters witnessed four businesses join the Executive Board and were awarded with plaques (see HISTORY page): Miguel's Pharmacy, Luis Records, Santana Bakery and Irizarry Insurance. Attending were two of our finest officers, one of whom is our very own designated Sgt.D. Levy with Sgt. Wilkes.

SCRIBE'S PRECIOUS PLACES COMMUNITY HISTORY PROJECT "PRIDE OF THE HILL", created by Cramer Hill Residents Assn in 2006. https://www.scribe.org/catalogue/pride-hill.
This entire city section was under threat of eminent domain abuse of an ambitious plan for a golf course, marinas, mansions, townhouses, etc. This film records the residents' memories of life in Cramer Hill and the anguish of losing everything. Four known deaths resulted from the stress.
CHRA included our firehouse, Engine 11, in the film.
